Projects / abrdn Amsterdam
Located on the 20th floor of Amsterdam’s World Trade Centre, the Dutch branch of abrdn, has fantastic city views. Maximising the outlook, creating flexibility, and bringing the office in line with brand identity across Europe, was the impetus for a recent refresh.
The new layout reveals striking views that were previously obscured. Redesigning the workspace has created collaborative and sociable spaces that are flooded with natural light.
Local Sourcing
Key to the success of the project was reflecting Dutch design and reducing carbon emissions, whilst still staying true to the brand. Sourcing from Dutch manufacturers such as Lande, Planq, Casala and Narbutas brought a quintessentially Dutch look and feel to the space.
Furniture from Textile Waste
Bureau support clients to minimise their environmental impact where possible. For this Netherlands based project, Planq was the perfect partner. Planq re-use, recycled waste material in their innovative furniture, they’re locally based and were able to support the entire fit-out.
Residential Style Workspace
The use of colour and softer, curved lines of the furniture selected, created a home-from-home, residential feel. Added planting and artwork further enhance the space, supporting a feeling of well-being.
Practical Workplace Solutions
Lockers provide storage space, shelving, and delineation to create separate zones. The addition of office call pods provide privacy and focus space when required and static workstations were replaced with height adjustable desks.
