The Bureau Lounge at the Scottish Tech Startup Awards
We’re thrilled to announce that Bureau will be an Official Partner of the 2018 Scottish Tech Startup Awards! Celebrating the organisations that help make Scotland’s Tech community such a success, this event is the party of the year for Scottish Tech startups. Taking over Central Hall, Edinburgh, on Thursday 29th November, the awards night will feature interactive entertainment, DJ’s and of course the Bureau Lounge!
Acknowledging everything that Scotland’s tech industry has achieved and what lies ahead for this remarkable, fast growing eco-system, the Scottish Tech Startup Awards recognize the very best in Scotland’s booming tech sector. With 10 categories such as; Startup of The Year, B2B Company of The Year and Tech for Good Award and a panel of six expert judges from companies such as Skyscanner, Seed Haus, Tech.eu, Pentech Ventures, Connect Ventures and Intercom London.
Back and better than ever, the Bureau Lounge is showcasing a range of furniture pieces from Arper, Workstories and Worksphere by Nomique. In keeping with the theme of the event, we will also be screening a range of old films with technology inspired storylines including; “Year 1999 A.D” by the Tom Thomas Organisation, and “Metropolis” by Fritz Lang. We wanted to create a serene, yet educational space for visitors to come and relax. Not only will we be screening archived movies and showcasing exceptionally designed products, we will also have smooth jazz playing to ensure guests can truly relax during an evening of flowing drinks and dancing!
Creating innovative and striking furniture solutions for a range of commercial and residential spaces, Arper’s design ethos is based around versatility with a human-centric approach, perfect for the Bureau Lounge. Selected exclusively for the event, the Saari Collection provides a contemporary seating system with its sculptural armchairs and sofa. Also featured in the Bureau Lounge are the playful Pix Collection and the simple yet sophisticated Dizzie Table.
Curating beautiful, affordable and inspiring commercial furniture pieces, Workstories provided a range of furniture to be exhibited in the Bureau Lounge during the event. The Kingsland Sofa was selected for its clean lines and black metal base to give an industrial chic aesthetic, but with comfort ensured by the feather and fibre spring cushions for optimum relaxation. Also included in the lounge are various items from the In The Flesh Collection, featuring a side table and coffee table, this range delivers New Zealand Pine Wood Tables made from solid pieces of wood with polished brass detailing, adding an unrefined, urban look to the Bureau Lounge.
Recognizing the importance of modern office design, Worksphere by Nomique have been selected by the team at Bureau to showcase multiple furniture pieces. The stylish Lounge Chair by Worksphere is a striking piece of furniture with a reclining seat, perfect for formal and informal environments. Also showcasing in the Bureau Lounge is the A Frame, a versatile standing meeting frame. With upholstered panels for added privacy, the A Frame is a small meeting hub, ideal for encouraging collaboration between employees in a formal or informal environment.
