Projects / abrdn London
Responding to changing working practices Abrdn have prioritised flexibility in their future ready workspace. With widescale adoption of hybrid-working, workplaces are becoming ‘culture spaces,’ bringing people together for social interaction.
Agile workspace
Bureau worked with Simah Aslam, Workplace Design Manager at Abrdn to create an agile workspace within the existing floorplate. Large sections of desking were relocated to allow for more flexible solutions to be installed down a central channel in the North and South Wing of Bow Bells House. With Bleacher seating on castors, flip top tables and mobile partitioning the layout can continually adapt to the needs of the team. With multiple options for both collaborative and focused work, there is a place for everyone to work productively.
Human Moments
Designing for ‘human moments,’ which encourage spontaneous conversations, a relaxing modular lounge area has been added. High tables and stools provide opportunities for chance meetings and impromptu chats.
Delineating Space
Multi-functional shelving units are used to create private zones but can be easily repositioned to respond to change. A space to add planting and display objects, they help to create a more home from home, relaxed environment.
Focused work
For focused work, Individual work booths provide a retreat from busier work zones.
Bespoke Meeting Table
Paying homage to the Granite city of Aberdeen and reinforcing brand identity, a bespoke granite meeting table makes a striking centrepiece. Designed and constructed in partnership with SJS, the stunning, hi-spec, table is perfect for collaboration and more formal meetings.
